HEAD OF PRODUCT MANAGEMENT AND QUALITY ASSURANCE
PTL Limited is seeking to recruit an experienced professional to take the helm of its Products & Quality Assurance Department. The Head of Products & Quality Assurance leads a critical business unit that ensures our current product portfolio is streamlined with clear product business and technical roadmaps and takes responsibility for standards and testing.
Based in Malta and reporting to the General Manager, the Head of Products & Quality Assurance is responsible for:
- Managing the product life cycle from strategic planning to tactical activities including go to market strategies;
- Specifying market requirements for current and future products;
- Monitoring and agreeing on the pricing in liaison with marketing, commercial and business development teams;
- Maintaining updated product business requirements documents;
- Validating detailed specifications and development costing against market potential and future predictable revenue;
- Developing and deploying key market messages and communication strategies;
- Monitoring and analyzing new technologies and conducting forward-looking research studies when applicable;
- Delivering meaningful updates for internal and external audiences, including training of commercial personnel, training of support groups, train-the-trainer programmes, and presentations at symposiums, trade shows, and key customer accounts;
- Delivering products that have solid technical architecture and design with scalability in mind;
- Maintaining a consistent improvement testing strategy for products and be-spoke development to customers;
- Building strong business relationships with third parties/vendors that could have a direct impact on our product portfolio;
- Conducting research in target audience needs, and identifying innovative solutions for existing and new market segments; and
- Managing the QA & Testing team.
The ideal candidate will possess a first degree in computer science or business management, a minimum five years’ experience in project management within the information technology sector, including one year of product management exposure, and a quality assurance certification such as ISEB. Experience in managing and leading technical teams, developing business solutions with hands-on experience in software development, web and mobile technologies and in delivering cloud-based solutions and service-oriented architectures will be advantageous. The role requires a professional with excellent relationship-building and communication skills, business acumen, technical knowledge, and a passion for innovative technology. A willingness to travel is essential.

PTL Limited is seeking to recruit a Hardware Support Engineer to assume responsibility for the provision of high-quality technical support to its ever-growing customer base.
This is a unique opportunity for a motivated, driven IT professional to join a team of ambitious and passionate IT specialists. Based in Malta and reporting to Customer Support and Technical Services Manager, the Hardware Software Engineer role requires an ability to install, configure and support computer systems, document troubleshooting and problem resolution measures, and provide training to customers.
The preferred candidate will possess at least an MQF (Malta Qualification Framework) Level 4 Diploma in IT or equivalent with a minimum of 2 years’ work experience in a similar role.

PTL Ltd is seeking to recruit a Database Administrator to join its Database & Middleware Services Team to support its diverse client base.
Based in Malta and reporting to the Database & Middleware Services Manager, the Database Administrator will provide installation services and support in Oracle or DB2 or Informix, carry out maintenance and troubleshooting, and design databases. The Database Administrator will be responsible for database file systems, backup and recovery procedures, writing, editing and optimising SQL statements, performance, tuning and monitoring of databases, recommending improvements, and carrying out maintenance.
The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate a can-do attitude with a strong work ethic and a passion for technology.
Core proficiency in logical and physical database design, stored procedures, triggers, backups and upgrades within Oracle or DB2, coupled with the ability to research, recommend and apply new solutions is essential to the role. The ideal candidate will have a track record for handling multiple projects in a fast-paced, changing environment. Although specific training will be provided, at least two years’ experience in databases, especially in Oracle or DB2 will be considered an asset.
Knowledge in Application Server Technologies (IBM WebSphere, Apache Tomcat, Oracle Glassfish, Redhat JBoss), Web Server (Apache HTTP Server, IBM HTTP Server), Redhat Linux and AIX Unix, Shell scripting and experience in High Availability, Infrastructure design and Performance Tuning will be advantageous.
