PTL’s Free Vulnerability Test is a light-touch, agent-based assessment for up to 5 Windows or Linux hosts. You install a small sensor; we run checks that enrich each finding with CVE data, severity, exploit availability, and business context. Our security analysts validate the results and deliver a clear report with an executive summary, evidence, and practical quick wins. An optional 30-minute read-out walks your team through the findings and next steps.

This is not a penetration test, and it won’t touch production beyond the agent install. Scope is limited to the 5 agreed hosts, with no remediation included. If you want to go further, we can extend coverage, add an external attack-surface check, or plug straight into ARX: ShieldPro (patching & CIS hardening) and ARX: SenseWave (ongoing vulnerability management). It’s a fast, low-risk way to see your true exposure and prioritise what to fix first.

Frequently Asked Questions

A few quick answers about the free vulnerability scan.

Will this scan disrupt our systems?

No. The assessment is agent-based and read-only. We do not run exploitation tools, change configurations, or interfere with operations.

How long does it take?

Typically 5 working days from kickoff to final report, depending on how quickly the agent is installed.

Is this a penetration test?

No. This is a vulnerability assessment designed to show where you are exposed, not to exploit or break into systems.

What access do you need?

Only the installation of a lightweight agent on the hosts in scope. No credentials, VPN access, or firewall changes are required.

What types of vulnerabilities do you detect?

Unpatched CVEs, configuration weaknesses, end-of-life software, insecure services, missing hardening, and more.

Can we continue working with PTL after the assessment?

Yes. You can expand the scope, run regular scans, or integrate into ARX: ShieldPro (patching & CIS hardening) or ARX: SenseWave (ongoing vulnerability management).
